      The Ethiopia Misty Valley Natural was developed by exporter and producer partner Abdullah Bagersh and reflects an exceptional level of care from start to finish. Produced in Ethiopia’s Gedio region, this naturally processed Yirgacheffe is handled with close attention during every stage of processing.

      When ripe cherries are delivered to the mill, they are dried on raised African beds and turned continuously—day and night—for the first 48 hours to ensure even evaporation of moisture from the fruit. This careful management helps promote consistency and cleanliness in a process that can otherwise be prone to mold and uneven air circulation. Meticulous drying protocols are essential in natural processing, where airflow, pacing, and cherry integrity directly influence overall quality.

      Once fully dried, the coffee is milled, sorted, and traded through the Ethiopian Coffee Exchange as a Grade 1 Yirgacheffe.

      This Ethiopia Misty Valley Natural offers a rich, layered cup with notes of mixed berry jam, marzipan, and dark chocolate. The profile is sweet and expressive, combining deep fruit character with a creamy, confectionary quality. It carries a silky, coating body that builds with roast development, while maintaining a strong sense of sweetness and structure throughout.

      In lighter roasts, the coffee is lively with notes of blueberry, honey, and a light creaminess. At a medium roast, the profile becomes more rounded and dessert-like, with mixed berry, vanilla, dark chocolate, and shortbread cookie. As the roast deepens, the fruit shifts into stewed berries alongside dark chocolate and almond, creating a more coating and structured cup. In darker roasts, the coffee becomes dense and rich, with dark berry, dark chocolate, and marzipan-like sweetness. No matter the roast level, this coffee delivers a jammy, sweet, and satisfying cup.
